Mini convertible roof wont open at all.

Once the shelf is seated the roof will open in all of it s glory. Basically the roof is jammed and won t open at all not even into sunroof mode instead of the usual windows coming down sunroof mode etc it made a few clicking sounds in the boot then went on to make a rather loud noise as if the motor to pull the clips open and the roof back is turning but the clips aren t unclipping at the front. If you lift the bottom of the roof at the boot there are levers on either side to release the bottom edge of the roof you can make certain that the package shelf is seated correctly. Mini convertible roof is not fully retracting.

When i put it back to normal it sounds like it is closing and then the sun roof closes. Check convertible fluid level. Moves eassily between the partially open mode and closed but will not answered by a verified bmw mechanic. A considerable number of convertible top problems are caused due to low hydraulic fluid level.

What exactly is happening to the trunk. Check the parcel shelf has been refitted correctly as there is a micro switch on the left hand side that stops the second stage of the roof from opening. If the level drops below the min the convertible top will either not operate at all or move to slowly not close or stop halfway. What have you tried so far.

Dont know whats wrong. It unlatches but then it stops. Are you fixing your mini yourself. Waited an hour and just tried again.

I have a 2005 mini cooper convertible and the top wont go down all the way. 2006 mini convertable sun roof opens but red flashing on close button and wont open roof. The button next to the open roof button flashes red on and off whilst i depress the open roof button not sure if this has relevance.
